I’m really happy to introduce my best friend and blogger Sarah of Nifty Thrifts to my blog! We collaborated together for this post, and it’s been the best blogger experience I’ve had so far! It’s pleasure and honour to have a snippet of Sarah’s wonderful style on my blog. Anna of Now You’ve Met the London Boys was kind enough to take the pictures for his shoot, and feature as our ghost of the haunted mansion!
I had a magnificent time with my best friends Anna and Sarah on Tuesday; we went into central Manchester for a spot of shopping and a good chat. We went to lots of vintage shops such as The Thriftettes and Oh Hell Clothing, from which I purchased new tie-dye pieces for my wardrobe. We visited one of my favourite book stores: Magma, and stocked up on magazines such as Lula and Purple Fashion. We popped into numerous little cafés for a quick snack and a toilet break; my favourite café was by far the Oklahoma Café. Stacked to the brim with miscellaneous books, the Oklahoma Café is a salad mix of elements from childhood and adulthood mixed toether to create a wonderful concoction of creative things. For example, dotted around the café were sketchbooks and Crayola crayons for visitors to doodle and draw in; the toilet had a chalkboard hanging on the wall, just in case you wanted to leave a little message for the next user. At Oklahoma I tried my first ever Curiosity Cola, if you’re one of the many who have yet to try this drink, I highly recommend you pop into your local café to try a bottle!
After a perfect day of shopping, eating and talking, we all headed over to the location for our shoot. The mansion you see in the background is, as rumour has it, haunted! After seeing the place for ourselves, we can all confirm that by the looks of it, it certainly is haunted! During the shoot, it was raining heavily, so please do excuse any frizzy curly hair or blurry photos! I’m in love with my latest purchase: a vintage camouflage jacket; albeit the jacket is huge, it was a sure bargain! Sarah gave me the fabulous idea to stud the shoulders of the jacket and use some iron on labels for the back, something which I will definitely try out once I’ve stocked up on supplies. (Sarah’s really brilliant with all this customising stuff!)
I had a lovely time, and it was nice to take a break from the high street for some vintage gems. I can’t wit to do another collaborative post like this again soon in the near future. Do take a look at and follow Sarah and Anna’s blogs, you won’t be disappointed at all!
