I know you are probably wondering where I have been, I’ve had some lovely emails from readers wondering why I had disappeared from the blogging/vlogging world, and really, I never meant to! I have become extremely busy and preoccupied with a whole range of different things, so I’ve not had the time to post as regularly I wanted to, but I have no intention to leave blogging forever, so do not fret!
All-black and monochromatic outfits seem to be all the rage lately and I must admit, I see the appeal, it’s supposed to look smart and sharp. The trend is so popular that the usual summer white shoe trend has extended into winter, something I am definitely not complaining about (I’ve always wanted to see more white aesthetics in winter!) This outfit is my take on a (partially) monochromatic outfit, technically my jeans are burgundy and not black so I’m bending the rules a little. I couldn’t resist adding a bit of colour to the outfit, which sort of defeats the whole monochrome objective but still, I think an outfit is most interesting when it’s personalised by the person wearing them.
If you’re a regular reader then you will probably notice that I am in fact wearing heels and this is news because I hardly ever wear heels! I am a really practical person so I prefer flats over heels, just for their sheer comfort (and also for the fact that I find walking in heels frankly quite tricky!). Aside from this, I do admit that I love the aesthetic of heels and I love how feminine they look too. Another thing I’m really into at the moment are earrings, that too, dangly pretty ones! A random choice, I know, but again, I love how attractive and feminine earrings look and I think they are flattering on any face. (earrings make your neck look more slender!)
The whole concept of accessories is quite appealing to me, I appreciate the understated nature of accessory add-ons – whether that be matching nail polish, jewellery, scarves, glasses, quite literally anything, but it’s always the small things which catch my eye in an outfit. I love printed scarves and so did my mother when she was my age, so fortunately, I get to borrow from her amazing scarf collection to which she is still adding to! I picked this scarf to wear not only because it was lovely and thick, (the weather is doing that weird hot/cold thing again) but also because the burgundy undertones seem to work well with the rest of the outfit. I paired them with some gold dangly earrings. (again, my mother’s!)
