I should apologise for my absence lately, I haven’t blogged for a few months because of exams. I have to say I’ve really missed blogging, being away from it for so long has not been easy! Today, after many weeks I am finally free to spend my summer doing what I love (I still have one exam left actually, but it’s not for a while yet). I should also apologise for this post being a little photo/text heavy, I think my enthusiasm for getting back to blogging has left me with complete and utter indecisiveness for choosing exactly which photos to publish and what to say – so I kind of chose everything.
Expect to see a lot more on my blog this summer! I’m looking forward to sharing more outfit posts as well as a few other things which I hope you will enjoy reading. I’m considering kick-starting my YouTube channel again, but I’m a bit lost for ideas as far as video uploads ago, so if you have any suggestions then do drop them in the comments box below. I have a huge stack of books I can’t wait to get through, being buried under stress and revision for weeks has meant I haven’t been able to spend as much time as I would like to reading. Free time now means I can get through all the Camus, Orwell and Dostoevsky without a shred of guilt!
For all my foreign readers, I am proud to announce that Britain experienced it’s first taste of summer a week ago – it lasted for two days! It was great to be able to see the sun and feel the temperature rise, but I’m pretty sure a few hours in, most people were complaining it became too hot. As is pretty evident from these pictures, the skies of Manchester are back to their gloomy selves – although I have to admit I really don’t mind this. I think there’s something really attractive about ‘gloomy’ weather and rain, but I’m sure I’m just an anomaly there. Nevertheless, we’re in what I call ‘transitory weather’ where it’s neither too hot nor too cold. The kind of weather which leaves you wondering exactly which coat will go with a “moderately sunny, kind of warm accompanied with colder spells and the slight chance of rain and a thunderstorm”.
Well here we have my solution to the ephemeral weather dilemma! To celebrate my first taste of freedom after so long I simply had to go out, so this is what I decided to throw together. The shirt, of a wonderful silk material, is from last year’s SS13 Topshop. I haven’t worn it since last summer and I can’t imagine why because it’s really such a lovely, simple shirt, I love the steel blue/grey colour making it perfect for formal wear or casual wear. The trousers are simply black suit trousers, just because I was feeling a more smarter look which I didn’t think your everyday skinny jeans can provide.
I have an exciting little press feature to announce too. I’ve recently been featured in two newspapers in one week – The Bury Times and The Bolton News! It’s always a great honour for me, running this here blog, to have it featured in print! Here are some pictures of the interview feature, I will scan in the proper article too at some point.
